Chapter One · The Man

Stay small. Stay local. Answer the phone.

Scott has been turning wrenches on plumbing since 1994. He filed Emerson Plumbing Repair & Drain Cleaning as an LLC in 2017 with a clear plan and three rules: stay small, stay local, and do every job himself. More than thirty years in, the rules have not changed and neither has the phone number.

That choice means there is no rotating crew and no offshore call center. When a Clarksville home calls, Scott or Sarah, his scheduling assistant, picks up. From there it is Scott on the truck, on the job, and on the receipt. The same person who quotes the work in the morning is the one finishing it that afternoon.

"I'd rather fix it once than come back three times."
— Scott, on his approach
Scott Emerson servicing a tank water heater
Scott Emerson working on a kitchen sink p-trap with hand tools
Scott Emerson repairing a main sewer line in a residential front yard
A water heater service call, a kitchen p-trap rebuild, and a main sewer line repair out front. Three jobs out of three thousand.

Most of the work that comes through the door is what other plumbers either could not finish or would not take on. Old houses with cast-iron drain stacks. Polybutylene supply lines that are due to fail. A water heater someone "fixed" three times already. Scott prefers it that way. The interesting jobs are the ones where the cause is a few feet upstream from the symptom, and finding it is the actual craft.

The other half is everyday plumbing. A toilet that runs. A faucet that drips. A garbage disposal that hums but does not turn. Those go quick, they get done right, and the bill is what you would expect. Nothing dressed up. Nothing padded. Just the work.

Chapter Four · What It Costs

Honest ranges. No surprises.

Most plumbers will not show you a number until they are at your door. Here are real-world ranges Scott sees in Clarksville. The exact number lands inside the range based on what is actually wrong, what materials are needed, and whether the job catches a surprise behind the wall.

A real quote always comes before any work begins. If anything changes, you hear about it before the next step.

Main sewer line clog$325 to $400
Toilet repair$262 to $350

Ranges are typical Clarksville-area figures, not promises. Final price is set after on-site diagnosis and quoted before any work starts.

"I called him on a Sunday night and they answered, even though they were closed. He answered some questions and I was able to get water working. They came out the next day and had it fixed. They had to cut holes in the walls and made it look so professional. Highly recommend."
